  • About The Role

  • We're looking for a Assistant Manager to lead on-site operations, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with safety and company standards. You'll drive a strong health & safety culture, oversee material supply, and confidently engage with regulatory bodies. With experience in sand and gravel, railheads, and recycling, you’ll inspire and motivate your team while keeping operations running smoothly. Reporting to the Site Manager, this is your chance to lead by example and make a real impact.
     
    About Your Role
    • Supervise and coordinate all activities and sub-contractors operating at the site – in line with Legislation, Company Policy and Procedure requirements 
    • Have a proactive approach to the Health and Safety, leading by example and encouraging a positive Health & Safety Culture
    • Effectively communicate material requirements, availability, and material changes with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure a reliable and consistent supply to the customer
    • Ensure all staff and contractors are aware of duties and responsibilities and are carried out to required standard and in line with Brett procedures and values
    • Experience of sand and gravel, railheads, recycling operations & Waste Duty of Care requirements
    • Leadership – inspiring enthusiasm in others, leading by examples, building managing and motivating a team.
    • Confident to deal with regulatory bodies particularly in terms of inspiring confidence that Brett are competently managing site operations
    We're Looking For
    • NVQ Level 4 or QCF Level 6 in SHE Management
    • WAMITAB Qualification or be willing to complete.
    • IOSH Managing Safely Qualification
    • Attention to detail
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Good manner and standards of personal presentation
    • Experience developing risk assessments and method statement and communicating them
