  • About The Role

  • We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Quarry Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our Sand & Gravel Quarry in Laleham, Middlesex. The site processes approximately 300kt per annum and supplies both internal and external customers. This is a rare opportunity to take on a key leadership role with appointment under Regulation 8.1c of the Quarry Regulations.
     
    The Quarry Manager will report directly to the Area Operations Manager and will be responsible for the safe and efficient running of all site operations. This includes overseeing SHEQ compliance, budget management and supporting the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects. The role involves managing a team of direct and indirect reports, as well as coordinating with contractors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
     
    About Your Role
    • Responsible for the quarry and site operations with appointment Reg 8.1c in line with Quarry Regulations
    • To actively promote the profitable, safe, and efficient management of the site operations
    • To drive continuous improvements in SHEQ performance and maintain a strong and positive SHEQ culture in line with current legislation and Company Policies
    • Add value by driving efficiency and energy improvement initiatives to enhance performance in key areas
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all inbound and outbound materials, maintaining consistent quality and supply
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and external customers.
    We're Looking For
    • Proven experience in a Quarry Manager role with a previous 8.1c appointment.
    • Strong leadership in SHEQ with up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation.
    • Good level of education and to hold QCF Level 6 in SHE Management or willingness to work towards qualification.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams
    • Experience in managing Sand & Gravel processing operations
    • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
