About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Welder / Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on, safety‑focused, and able to deliver high‑quality welding and fabrication work in a demanding production environment. Experience in heavy industry or concrete manufacturing is beneficial but not essential for a competent and driven welder/fabricator with strong mechanical skills.
About Your Role
• Carry out MIG and stick welding to produce high‑quality, durable welds suitable for harsh and abrasive plant conditions.
• Fabricate, repair, and modify plant structures including chutes, hoppers, guards, platforms, moulds, and high‑wear components.
• Perform mechanical repairs on mixers, conveyors, material‑handling systems, batch plant equipment, and other production machinery.
• Complete hard‑facing and wear‑protection welding to extend component life in high‑abrasion environments.
• Support planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance activities.
• Respond to urgent breakdowns, restoring production safely, quickly, and to a high standard.
• Inspect and assess welds, structures, and fabricated components to ensure compliance and durability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in line with site requirements.
• Work closely with production and maintenance teams to prioritise tasks and deliver plant reliability improvements.
• Carry out both workshop‑based and on‑site welding and mechanical work in industrial environments.
• Follow all hot‑work, LOTO, confined space, and PPE procedures, ensuring a high standard of safety at all times.
We're Looking For
• Strong MIG and stick welding skills.
• Steel fabrication, layout, cutting, and fit‑up capability.
• Mechanical maintenance experience (repairs, replacements, adjustments).
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and interpret weld symbols.
• Strong awareness of safety procedures including hot‑work, LOTO, and PPE.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a maintenance team.
• Good timekeeping, attendance, and a proactive attitude.
• Welding certifications (CWB, AWS, or equivalent) advantageous.
• Experience working in heavy industry, aggregates, or concrete environments preferred.
• Familiarity with PPM routines or reliability‑focused maintenance desirable.
• Exposure to continuous improvement or lean manufacturing beneficial.
