Site operative - Ipswich Port

• Safely operating mobile and fixed plant, including routine daily, weekly and monthly inspections, reporting defects immediately

• Loading and despatching materials efficiently while delivering a professional service to customers
• Carrying out general site maintenance and housekeeping to keep the site, plant, roads and stockpiles clean, safe and well organised
• Continuously monitoring product quality, reporting any changes or issues without delay
• Actively contributing to a positive Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) culture by reporting near misses, hazards and improvement opportunities
• Supporting the Site Supervisor with paperwork and basic administration where required

We're Looking For

• Flexible and reliable, able to adapt to a changing workload driven by marine and rail operations
• A practical, hands‑on individual with a willingness to immerse themselves in all aspects of site operations
• Safety‑focused, with a strong awareness of SHE requirements and company procedures
• Able to work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and customers alike
• Self‑motivated with a positive, can‑do approach
• Experience in aggregates, quarrying, recycling or a similar heavy industrial environment is desirable, but not essential
• Experience operating mobile plant and/or weighbridge systems is advantageous
• A full driving licence and flexibility to work at other local sites when required
• A reasonable standard of English and Maths, with the ability to complete basic paperwork accurately
• Willingness to undertake training, including plant operation and NVQ qualifications, where required
